Ingredients

  • 4 turkey wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures even cooking for juicy turkey wings.

Prepare the Turkey Wings

  • Pat the wings dry with a paper towel. Rub them with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Ensure all sides are coated evenly.

Arrange Wings in Baking Dish

  • Place the seasoned wings in a large baking dish. Spread sliced onions around them. This adds flavor and aroma to the dish.

Roast the Wings

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Roast for about 60–75 minutes, turning halfway through. Baste occasionally with pan juices for extra moisture.

Prepare the Gravy Base

  • While wings roast, pour broth into a small skillet. Heat over medium heat. Melt butter and add flour to make a roux. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.

Combine Pan Juices with Gravy

  • Once wings are done, remove from oven. Pour pan juices into the roux slowly while whisking. Cook until gravy reaches desired thickness. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve and Garnish

  • Place turkey wings on a serving platter. Pour gravy over the wings generously. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate turkey wings overnight with herbs and spices.
  • Add a splash of white wine to the gravy for richness.
  • Use smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Roast wings with carrots and celery for extra aroma.
  • Try baking in a foil-covered dish to keep meat extra moist.
