  • Large shrimp peeled and deveined – 1 pound
  • Unsalted butter softened – ½ cup
  • Garlic finely minced – 4 cloves
  • Fresh parsley chopped – 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Parmesan cheese grated – ¼ cup
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes – ¼ teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. This temperature cooks shrimp fast and keeps them juicy.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Rinse shrimp under cold water. Pat them dry using paper towels. Set aside.

Make Garlic Butter

  • In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, parsley, lemon juice, salt and pepper until smooth.

Grease the Dish

  • Brush the baking dish with olive oil. This prevents sticking and adds flavor.

Arrange the Shrimp

  • Place shrimp in the dish. Arrange them in a single layer for even cooking.

Add Butter Mixture

  • Spoon garlic butter over each shrimp. Make sure every shrimp gets coated.

Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over the shrimp. This creates a golden topping.

Add Heat

  • Sprinkle red pepper flakes lightly. Skip or reduce if you prefer mild flavor.

Bake the Shrimp

  • Bake uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes. Shrimp should turn pink and firm.

Rest and Serve

  • Remove from oven. Let rest two minutes. Serve warm with bread or lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for best texture.
  • Do not overbake shrimp. They cook very fast.
  • Add white wine for deeper flavor.
  • Use mozzarella for milder cheese taste.
  • Add mushrooms for extra richness.
  • Serve in individual ramekins for style.
