Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the White Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For Layering:

  • 9 lasagne sheets
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Prepare the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. This ensures even cooking and a perfect bake.

Cook the Meat

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and garlic. Cook until soft. Add beef and cook until browned.

Add Tomato Sauce

  • Pour in tomato sauce. Add oregano, salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.

Make White Sauce

  • In another pan, melt butter. Add flour and stir. Slowly add milk. Cook until smooth and thick.

Prepare Baking Dish

  • Grease your baking dish lightly. This prevents sticking and helps easy serving.

Start Layering

  • Add a layer of meat sauce. Place lasagne sheets on top. Spread white sauce over them.

Repeat Layers

  • Repeat the layers. Keep adding meat, pasta, and white sauce. Do this until ingredients are used.

Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle grated cheese on top. This creates a golden and tasty crust.

Bake the Lasagne

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 40–50 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Rest and Serve
