Ingredients

  • Ribeye steak – 1 pound
  • Romaine lettuce – 2 large heads chopped
  • Cherry tomatoes – 1 cup halved
  • Red onion – ½ cup thinly sliced
  • Blue cheese crumbles – ½ cup
  • Croutons – 1 cup
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon

For the Dressing

  • Mayonnaise – ½ cup
  • Sour cream – ¼ cup
  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce – 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic – 1 clove minced
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Prepare the Steak

  • Take steak out of fridge. Let it rest at room temperature for fifteen minutes before cooking.

Season the Steak

  • Rub steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Coat all sides evenly.

Heat the Pan

  • Heat skillet on medium-high heat. Let it get hot before adding steak.

Cook the Steak

  • Place steak in pan. Cook four minutes per side for medium-rare doneness.

Rest the Steak

  • Remove steak from pan. Let it rest on board for five minutes.

Slice the Steak

  • Slice steak thin against the grain. Keep slices juicy and tender.

Wash the Greens

  • Wash romaine lettuce well. Dry fully to keep salad crisp and fresh.

Prep Vegetables

  • Cut tomatoes, slice onions and measure cheese. Keep everything ready nearby.

Make the Dressing

  • Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Worcestershire, garlic and pepper until smooth.

Taste the Dressing

  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Add more lemon or pepper if needed.

Assemble the Salad

  • Add lettuce to large bowl. Top with tomatoes, onions, cheese and croutons.

Add Steak

  • Lay warm steak slices gently over the salad. Spread evenly for balance.

Add Dressing

  • Drizzle dressing slowly over salad. Toss gently using tongs.

Serve Fresh

  • Serve immediately while steak is warm and lettuce is crisp.

Notes

  • Use sirloin if ribeye is unavailable.
  • Grill steak for smoky flavor.
  • Add avocado slices for creaminess.
  • Swap blue cheese with feta if needed.
  • Make dressing ahead for stronger flavor.
  • Chill plates before serving for freshness.
  • Add bacon bits for extra richness.
