Ingredients
  

  • Minced beef or lamb – 500g
  • Onion – 2 medium chopped
  • Garlic – 3 cloves minced
  • Ginger – 1 tablespoon grated
  • Tomatoes – 2 chopped or 1 cup canned
  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish

Instructions
  

Heat the Oil

  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. This releases their flavor and aroma.

Cook the Onions

  • Add chopped onions to the pan. Cook until soft and golden. Stir often so they do not burn.

Add Garlic and Ginger

  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for one minute. This step builds a strong and tasty base.

Add Spices

  • Add turmeric, chili powder and coriander powder. Stir well and cook briefly. This helps the spices release their full flavor.

Cook the Minced Meat

  • Add minced meat to the pan. Cook until browned. Break it into small pieces using a spoon.

Add Tomatoes

  • Add chopped tomatoes. Cook until they soften and blend into the mixture. This creates a rich sauce.

Simmer the Curry

  • Add a little water if needed. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add Green Peas

  • Add green peas and cook for another 5 minutes. This adds color and sweetness to the curry.

Finish with Garam Masala

  • Sprinkle garam masala on top. Mix well and cook for a minute. This gives a final boost of flavor.

Garnish and Serve

  • Turn off the heat. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or bread.
