  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can kidney beans drained
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

Heat the Oil

  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. This helps start the cooking process smoothly.

Cook the Onion

  • Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir gently to avoid burning.

Add Garlic and Pepper

  • Add garlic and bell pepper. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant and slightly soft.

Brown the Beef

  • Add minced beef to the pot. Cook until browned and no longer pink.

Add Spices

  • Sprinkle chilli powder, paprika and cumin. Mix well so the spices coat the meat evenly.

Add Tomatoes

  • Pour in chopped tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir everything together until well combined.

Simmer the Chilli

  • Lower the heat and let it simmer for 20–25 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add Beans

  • Add kidney beans to the pot. Cook for another 10 minutes until heated through.

Season to Taste

  • Add salt and pepper as needed. Taste and adjust flavors to your liking.

Serve Hot

  • Serve hot with rice, bread or toppings. Enjoy the rich and chunky texture.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey for a lighter version
  • Add corn for extra texture
  • Use fresh tomatoes if available
  • Let it simmer longer for deeper flavor
  • Add a pinch of sugar to balance acidity
  • Top with cheese or sour cream
