The first time I heard the name, I laughed. Frog Jam sounds funny. But one taste changed everything. This Frog Jam Recipe is sweet, bright and full of fruit.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple drained
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 package fruit pectin

Instructions
  

Prepare the fruit

  • Wash strawberries well. Chop them small. Mash bananas until smooth and creamy.

Combine fruits

  • Place strawberries, pineapple and bananas into a large saucepan.

Add lemon juice

  • Pour lemon juice over the fruit mixture. This helps balance sweetness.

Add pectin

  • Sprinkle fruit pectin evenly over the mixture. Stir gently to combine.

Heat the mixture

  • Place saucepan on medium heat. Stir often to avoid sticking.

Bring to boil

  • Bring mixture to a rolling boil. Stir constantly during this step.

Add sugar

  • Add sugar all at once. Stir until fully dissolved.

Boil again

  • Return to a rolling boil. Boil for one full minute.

Remove from heat

  • Take saucepan off heat. Skim off foam if needed.

Jar the jam

  • Pour hot jam into clean jars. Let cool before sealing lids.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for best flavor
  • Stir often to prevent burning
  • Add vanilla for warmth
  • Use honey for part of the sugar
  • Make smaller batches for beginners
  • Label jars with date
