Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 –4 fresh peaches sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar for topping
  • Powdered sugar for dusting optional

Instructions
  

Prepare the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan lightly with butter or oil.

Prepare the Peaches

  • Wash and slice peaches into thin pieces. Set them aside in a bowl.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Mixtures

  • Slowly add wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir gently until smooth batter forms.

Do Not Overmix

  • Mix just until combined. Overmixing can make the cake dense instead of soft.

Pour Batter into Pan

  • Pour batter into greased baking pan. Spread it evenly with a spatula.

Add Peach Slices

  • Place sliced peaches on top of the batter. Arrange them evenly for best look.

Add Sugar Topping

  • Sprinkle one tablespoon sugar over peaches. This helps create a light caramel top.

Bake the Cake

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes. Check with a toothpick. It should come out clean.

Cool the Cake
