Ingredients
  

For the rice bowls

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups water or low-sodium broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
  

Cook the Rice

  • Rinse the rice until water runs clear. Cook with water or broth. Cover and simmer until fluffy and tender.

Prepare the Sauce

  • Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, vinegar, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Heat the Pan

  • Place skillet on medium heat. Add olive oil. Let it warm gently before adding ingredients.

Cook the Onion

  • Add chopped onion. Stir often. Cook until soft and lightly golden, about four minutes.

Add Garlic

  • Stir in minced garlic. Cook briefly until fragrant. Do not let it burn.

Brown the Turkey

  • Add ground turkey. Break it apart. Cook until no longer pink and lightly browned.

Season the Meat

  • Add soy sauce, honey, paprika, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Add Vegetables

  • Mix in bell pepper and carrots. Cook until tender but still colorful.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste the turkey mixture. Adjust salt or spice as needed.

Assemble the Bowls

  • Spoon rice into bowls. Top with turkey mixture. Drizzle with bang bang sauce generously.

Add Toppings

  • Sprinkle green onions, sesame seeds and cilantro on top before serving.

Notes

  • Use jasmine rice for extra aroma and softness.
  • Swap turkey with ground chicken if needed.
  • Add broccoli or snap peas for crunch.
  • Reduce sriracha for a milder sauce.
