Ingredients

  • 6 plain or glazed doughnuts
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter for greasing

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish with butter. This prevents sticking and adds flavor.

Cut the Doughnuts

  • Cut the doughnuts into small pieces. Place them evenly in the baking dish.

Prepare the Custard

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Pour the Mixture

  • Pour the custard over the doughnut pieces. Make sure all pieces are soaked well.

Let It Rest

  • Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. This helps doughnuts absorb the custard.

Bake the Pudding

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and set.

Check Doneness

  • Insert a knife into the center. If it comes out clean, the pudding is ready.

Cool Slightly

  • Remove from oven and let it cool for 5–10 minutes. This makes slicing easier.

Add Toppings

  • You can drizzle caramel or sprinkle powdered sugar on top. This adds extra sweetness.

Serve Warm

  • Serve warm for the best taste. Enjoy the soft, creamy texture with every bite.

Notes

  • Use stale doughnuts for better texture
  • Add chocolate chips for extra flavor
  • Try different flavored doughnuts
  • Use cream instead of milk for richness
  • Add nuts for crunch
  • Serve with ice cream for a special treat
