Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweet corn fresh, frozen, or canned
  • 200 grams cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions optional

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 180°C (350°F). Let it heat fully before baking. A preheated oven helps cook the casserole evenly. Lightly grease your baking dish with butter so nothing sticks later.

Prepare the Corn

  • If using fresh corn, remove kernels from the cob. For frozen corn, thaw it first. If using canned corn, drain all liquid. Keep the corn ready in a bowl before mixing.

Soften the Cream Cheese

  • Place cream cheese in a bowl at room temperature. Soft cream cheese mixes easily. You can also microwave it for a few seconds if needed. Do not melt it fully.

Mix the Base

  • Add cream cheese, milk and butter to a mixing bowl. Stir well until smooth and creamy. This forms the base of your Cream Cheese Corn Casserole Recipe.

Add Corn and Seasoning

  • Add corn into the creamy mixture. Then add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sugar. Mix everything well so the corn gets fully coated with the creamy base.

Add Cheese

  • Now add shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently so it spreads evenly. The cheese will melt during baking and make the casserole rich and delicious.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it evenly with a spoon. Make sure the top is smooth so it bakes evenly.

Bake the Casserole

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 35–40 minutes. The top should turn light golden. The edges may bubble slightly, which means it is ready.

Cool and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it cool for 5–10 minutes. This helps the casserole set. Sprinkle green onions on top before serving for a fresh look.

Notes

  • Use fresh corn for the best natural sweetness
  • Add chopped jalapeños for a spicy twist
  • Mix in cooked bacon for extra flavor
  • Use mozzarella instead of cheddar for a mild taste
  • Add breadcrumbs on top for a crispy layer
  • Reduce milk for a thicker casserole
  • Add herbs like parsley for freshness
