Ingredients
  

  • 4 pita bread rounds
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional

Instructions
  

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil. A hot oven helps the pita bread become crispy and golden without burning.

Prepare the Pita Bread

  • Place the pita bread on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice each pita into small triangles. Each round usually makes six to eight pieces.

Separate the Layers

  • Gently open each pita triangle into two thin layers. This step makes the chips lighter and crispier. If the pita does not separate easily, you can bake them whole.

Mix the Seasoning

  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, salt, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper and paprika. Stir well so the spices blend evenly with the oil.

Coat the Pita Pieces

  • Place the pita triangles in a mixing bowl. Drizzle the seasoned olive oil over them. Toss gently until every piece is lightly coated with oil and seasoning.

Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Spread the pita triangles in a single layer on the baking sheet. Make sure they do not overlap. Proper spacing helps them bake evenly and become crispy.

Bake Until Crispy

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10–12 minutes. Halfway through baking, flip the chips so both sides become golden and crunchy.

Cool the Chips

  • Remove the chips from the oven and let them cool for five minutes. They will become even crispier as they cool. This step is important for perfect texture.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Place the warm pita chips in a bowl and serve immediately. They taste wonderful with hummus, tzatziki or roasted red pepper dip.
