Branzino Fish Recipe

Branzino Fish Recipe is one of my favorite simple seafood meals. I first cooked branzino at home on a quiet weekend evening. The smell of lemon and herbs filled my kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole branzino fish cleaned and scaled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional vegetables like cherry tomatoes or onions

Instructions

Prepare the Fish

  • Rinse the branzino under cold water. Pat it dry well. This helps the skin get crispy during baking.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F or 200°C. A hot oven cooks fish evenly and fast.

Season the Fish

  • Place fish on the tray. Rub olive oil all over. Sprinkle salt and pepper inside and outside.

Add Flavor Inside

  • Stuff lemon slices and garlic inside the fish. Add herbs for fresh aroma and taste.

Arrange on Tray

  • Lay fish flat on parchment paper. Add vegetables around if using them.

Bake the Fish

  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. The skin should look golden and slightly crisp.

Check for Doneness

  • Fish is ready when flesh flakes easily. Use a fork to check the thick part.

Rest and Garnish

  • Remove from oven and rest two minutes. Sprinkle fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Choose fresh branzino with clear eyes and firm skin.
  • Dry fish well before seasoning for crispy skin.
  • Add butter on top for richer flavor.
  • Use fresh herbs like rosemary or dill.
  • Grill the fish instead of baking for smoky taste.
  • Add chili flakes for gentle heat.
