  • Fruit juice ½ cup

Instructions
  

Prepare the Mold

  • Lightly grease your mold or tray. This helps remove candy easily later.

Mix Agar with Water

  • Add agar agar powder to cold water. Stir well to avoid lumps.

Heat the Mixture

  • Place saucepan on medium heat. Stir often until mixture starts boiling.

Boil to Activate Agar

  • Let mixture boil for two minutes. Stir constantly to activate the agar fully.

Add Sugar

  • Add sugar slowly. Stir until completely dissolved.

Add Fruit Juice

  • Pour in fruit juice. Stir gently to mix evenly.

Add Lemon Juice

  • Add lemon juice. This brightens the flavor.

Add Flavoring

  • Add optional extract or food coloring. Stir gently.

Remove from Heat

  • Turn off heat once everything is mixed well.

Pour into Mold

  • Carefully pour hot mixture into prepared mold or tray.

Cool at Room Temperature

  • Let mixture cool for fifteen minutes. Do not move the mold.

Refrigerate to Set

  • Place mold in fridge. Chill for thirty minutes until firm.

Check Firmness

  • Touch the surface gently. It should feel firm and springy.

Remove from Mold

  • Turn mold upside down. Release candy carefully.

Cut into Shapes

  • Use a knife to cut candy into cubes or fun shapes.
